EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY AT COUTTS
Coutts helps people to thrive and values differences – regardless of background or beliefs.
AN INCLUSIVE CULTURE
We believe creating a great place to work that celebrates diversity is crucial to the success of any business.
Our Culture Plan helps to make Coutts a place where all colleagues feel welcome, and all can thrive. Focusing on the areas our people tell us matter most, it’s driven by two groups of volunteers from across the bank.
PEOPLE COUNCIL
A bridge between Coutts employees and senior management. Responsibilities include:
- addressing issues that arise through the Coutts-wide employee survey
- providing feedback to leaders on how their teams are feeling
- helping employees engage with our priorities for supporting society – backing new business, tackling climate change and promoting financial planning
RESPECT, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION COUNCIL
Celebrates diversity and inclusion among all Coutts employees. In line with our parent company NatWest Group, it focuses on ensuring the bank becomes:
- disability smart
- ethnically diverse
- LGBTQ+ innovative
- socially inclusive
- culturally aware
- gender balanced
INCLUSIVE INITIATIVE
EMPLOYEE-LED NETWORKS
We have a number of employee-led networks where our people can come together, discuss what’s important to them and address any challenges. They go a long way towards helping create a more inclusive culture.
From female talent to social mobility, from the multi-cultural community to LGBTQ+, there’s something for everyone. And of course, all are welcome to join each group.
INCLUSION champions
Coutts Inclusion Champions are a group of trained staff who offer a confidential way for colleagues to share concerns about behaviour or the culture at work. They can discuss next steps and point people to the most appropriate support.
HOW OUR PEOPLE CAN RAISE CONCERNS
We’re very proud of our work building an inclusive, welcoming culture. But for it to really work, it’s vital our people have every chance to report anything that falls short of our high standards.
We have a confidential, 24-hour whistleblowing service, run independently, that our colleagues can use to report misconduct or wrongdoing.
It’s called, appropriately enough, Speak Up, and through it people who work here can raise concerns in confidence online, on the app, or by phone.
